Cyprus
Hi.My name is Marios Christodoulou , I am 17 years old and I live
on a small but beautiful island in the mediterranian called Cyprus.
I love listening to Heavy Metal and Rock bands such as Metallica ,
Megadeth , Nirvana , Sepultura , Skyclad , Iron Maiden , Pearl Jam
and many others
I also like football , basketball , tennis and Judo.
I am also a true beliver in UFOs although I have never seen any.
My hobbies include making model fighter planes , reading , books
and of course (my favourite)working with my computer.My favourite
author is J.R.R Tolkien and my favourite TV programms are STAR
TREK:The Next Generation , The X-Files and Married With Children.
MY COUNTRY , CYPRUS.
My country Cyprus is a small island in the Mediterraninan sea.It is a
place of unexplainable beauty with georgeous beaches and beautiful
mountains covered by wonderful green forests.Each year over 2
milion people visit Cyprus from all over the world.The capital of
the island is called Nicosia and I regret to say that it is the only occupied
capital in the whole of Europe.
THE CYPRUS PROBLEM:Since 1974 Cyprus has been occupied
by the Turkish troops who have taken half the island.The UN-Buffer
Zone runs through the island dividing it in half.Turkey has been called
to attend the International Court since 1974 several times but has yet
to answer.Why? Perhaps because they killed thousands of Cypriot
civilians and drove 200.000 refugees out of their homes or perhaps
because the fate of 1619 people is still unknown.
These are true facts and not stories made up like the Turkish propaganda
